Be sure to mark your calendars for June 8th from 11am to 2pm to stop by the Shambles (2nd Street & Lombard Street) for a glass of lemonade in support of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation's Lemonade Days. Join us in our fight against childhood cancer by helping us advertise, volunteering for a shift at the stand, or by buying a glass of ice cold lemonade! Blood Drive

This May we will be joining forces with the Presbyterian Historical Society and the American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive on Friday, May 31st. Appointments are preferred and can be made by visiting redcrossblood.org and using the Sponsor Code 02215510 or by calling Quincina Jackson at 215-627-1852.

Join us on Saturday, April 13th from 8:30am-12pm as we join forces with Old Pine Street Church to do our share in the fight against hunger in the Greater Philadelphia Area. We will be volunteering at Philabundance's Hunger Relief Center located near the stadiums. Time will be spent sorting & packing food in their main warehouse so plan on wearing comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes. Broad Street Ministry
Old Pine Community Center and Old Pine Street Church will join forces March 9th to serve the Breaking Bread meal at Broad Street Ministry. Volunteers must be 16 years or older to serve food and 12 years or older (with a parent!) to serve in other areas. Orientation starts at 10am and the meal runs through 1pm.

Souper Bowl 2013
No matter what team you are rooting for this Super Bowl XLVII... you can play for a winning team by donating to our SOUPER Bowl!
To continue our 12 Months of Mission we are collecting soup for our Saturday for Seniors Program. Each Saturday 50 senior citizens receive one hot meal and one take home meal consisting of a can of soup, fruit, and a snack. These meals are provided at no charge. The goal is to ensure our seniors have food to eat on weekends when city support programs are closed. 1 out of 5 Philadelphia seniors live in poverty today and are dependent on help for their basic needs.
We need 2,400 cans of soup each year. This year so far we have received donations of 900 cans...we need 1,500 more.
You can help one of two ways:
- Make a financial contribution. Thanks to Philabundance we can stretch your donation by purchasing soup for less that $.30 per can. At this price $15 buys soup for 50 seniors for one week. Check should be made payable to Old Pine and dropped at the front desk.
- Drop off cans of soup at Old Pine Street Church or Old Pine Community Center during the month of February.
We are proud to report that through the combined efforts of Old Pine Street Church and Old Pine Community Center cash and cans were collected to supply the Saturday for Seniors program with over 2,080 cans of soup! Thanks to the generosity of many we will be able to send all of our Seniors home with a hot meal for a year!
