Khaylae Martin is a recent transplant to Philadelphia from Ft. Worth, Texas. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. She previously worked at an after-school program for elementary-aged kids as a recreational group leader. Khaylae describes her job at OPCC as “a care provider who loves to inspire kindness and creativity within the kids”. She likes being able to work with kids because they inspire her to be more creative and look at the world with new, fresh eyes and also loves being able to be a part of their growth as little humans. Having an open mind and having compassion for the people around her is very important to Khaylae. She believes that you get back the vibes you give out so she always tries to move through life with a positive and optimistic mindset. When she is not working, Khaylae enjoys listening to music, “attempting to cook,” and reading. The last book she read that stuck with her is Sula by Toni Morrison. Khaylae also picked up painting on canvases as a new quarantine hobby.
