Before landing at OPCC, Shay bounced around the nonprofit, advocacy, and art spaces such as the Mann Center of Performing Arts, The Mayor’s Office of Public Engagement, and the PSPCA. Shay describes her job as a “friendly neighborhood receptionist” who does “whatever makes OPCC run, from mailing personal thank-you’s to donors to making fun signs for our programs.” Shay’s favorite part of working for OPCC is the comfortable atmosphere. Every morning you can find her making tea and singing or chatting with her boss. She likes that she can focus on quality rather than quantity. Shay values and embodies adaptability, compassion, and grace in her work environment. When she is not working, you can find Shay doing “whatever’s nerdy,” such as video games, painting, puzzles, biking, watching TV, or whatever new obsession she has found that month.
